No one would have guessed,
Until they saw the blood stains on her dress,
And the withered rose tucked in her hair.
That she was getting older,
Her nights kept getting colder,
There was no love inside her to share.
And so down she laid,
This pure beauty, unscathed,
An innocent girl so fair.
Her single shot fired,
All feelings retired,
She forgot anyone would care.
Darkness kept growing,
Her blue eyes still showing,
A hole in her chest from despair.
The stars above kept skipping,
Her blood to the floor was dripping,
She proved she wasn't scared.

All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day and put the pieces back together my way.
